Starting a business isn’t always straightforward. When I first decided to start a business, I didn’t know what to promote. I wasn’t sure which product or service would resonate with my future audience. So, like many entrepreneurs, I turned to the internet and started reading articles on what was trending.

One thing that kept popping up was digital products. They seemed like a great option, so I decided to create a printable planner. To make sure I did it right, I found a free course that taught how to design and sell digital planners using Amazon.. As Amazon was a bit complicated I turned Etsy to sell it, only to realise it was free for the first weeks but then required to pay for a subscription. Despite my efforts, I struggled to promote it without spending money, so I eventually closed it.

Fast forward to a two years later—while searching for a freebie to offer for my new business, I remembered the planner I had created!

I dusted it off, created a landing page for it, and posted it on Pinterest. To my surprise, it worked! People started downloading it, and I was able to build my email list and connect with potential customers.

This experience made me realise that Pinterest is an incredible tool for entrepreneurs looking to promote their products or services. Here are five reasons why you should be using Pinterest for your business:

5 Reasons to Use Pinterest for Your Business

  1. Evergreen Content: Pins have a long shelf life! Unlike posts on other platforms, your content can stay visible for months (or even years), driving traffic to your website long after it’s posted.

  2. Targeted Audience: Pinterest is a search engine, not just a social platform. People actively search for solutions to their problems, making it easier to reach individuals who are already interested in what you offer.

  3. Increased Brand Visibility: Pinterest allows you to showcase your products or services in a visually appealing way, helping to increase brand awareness. A well-designed pin can go viral, leading to exposure you wouldn’t get on other platforms.

  4. Drive Traffic to Your Website: With the ability to link directly to your landing page or product, Pinterest is an excellent platform for driving traffic to your website or online store. A single pin can lead to new customers.

  5. Build Your Email List: By offering freebies or lead magnets, like my digital planner, you can build your email list and nurture relationships with potential customers, eventually converting them into paying clients.

Conclusion

Pinterest isn’t just a platform for DIY projects or recipes. It’s a powerful tool for business owners looking to promote their products, build an audience, and drive sales. Don’t forget—sometimes the best content is already sitting in your digital files, just waiting to be shared!

If you’re stuck on what to post, consider creating a freebie like a printable planner or guide, and share it with your audience. You might be surprised at how it connects with people who are looking for exactly what you offer.

Wishing you well and I am looking forward to sharing more with you.
