How to Start Creating Change in Your Life After 35!

Being in you mid-30's or beyond often brings a quiet but powerful question: “Is this the life I want?”

If you, like I have, asked yourself a similar question recently, then maybe you feel stuck!

  • Maybe you’re craving something more!

  • Maybe you’re ready to reconnect with the dreams you’ve put aside for years! Like I did.

The good news? Creating change after 35 is not only possible it’s often the moment when us women make their most meaningful, aligned, and fulfilling life decisions!

Here’s a simple way to begin gently and without overwhelm.

1. Get honest about what you want next

Change doesn’t start with action, it starts with clarity. Ask yourself:

  • What do I want more of in my life?

  • What do I want less of?

  • What have I been ignoring or postponing?

  • What dream keeps coming back to me?

As us women over 35 often feel pulled toward:

  • starting a business

  • changing careers

  • improving their wellbeing

  • creating more freedom

  • reconnecting with creativity

  • building a life that feels meaningful

Often clarity is the first step toward any transformation!

2. Visualise the life you want to create

I learned that your brain needs a picture before it can build a plan. This is why visualisation is so powerful, it helps you see what’s possible before it exists and a vision board is one of the simplest and most effective tools for this.

It helps you:

  • reconnect with your goals

  • define what you truly want

  • stay focused throughout the year

  • feel inspired instead of overwhelmed

If you’ve never made one before (or if your past ones didn’t work), don’t worry try again as the process becomes much easier with the right guidance!

3. Start small, but start intentionally

The word intention seems to be everywhere nowadays, however it is important for a reason. For me intention is the difference between doing things without thinking as if life feels like it’s happening and possible positive outcome feel like luck rather then and choosing your path.

Being intentional means showing up with awareness. It’s taking small steps daily, toward goals, practicing gratitude, or simply noticing that as a person you are someone who cares about others, as I learned and choosing to act with kindness.

It’s embracing your strengths, flaws, and a path you create, as I am doing for myself.

And when it comes to visualising your goals, intention is everything. You don’t need to change your whole life at once — you just need to begin.

Try:

  • choosing one area of your life to focus on

  • setting one meaningful goal

  • taking one small step this week

  • creating one habit that supports your vision

Small steps compound into big change, especially after 35, when you’re more self‑conscious and intentional.

4. Use tools that keep you aligned

Change doesn’t happen from motivation alone, it happens from structure.

This is where tools like:

  • goal‑setting frameworks

  • affirmations

  • vision board templates

  • guided reflection

  • yearly planning

…become incredibly helpful. They keep you grounded, focused, and connected to your direction.

In case you are feeling unsure, or hesitating because you do not know where to start, or how, and you are ready for deeper clarity, support, and direction then a guidebook can help you! Because you don’t have to figure everything out alone.
